Christmas post

Too late for the post?

Posted Santa letters are lovely, but they have to be ordered, printed and delivered. Most posted-letter services stop taking orders around 18 December, and Royal Mail’s last recommended posting dates follow soon after.

A downloaded letter has no posting date. It works on 23 December, and it works at six o’clock on Christmas Eve, in time for bedtime.

Little touches

Making it feel like it came from the North Pole

  • Fold the letter in three and tuck it into an envelope. Write their name on the front in your curliest handwriting, or ask a grown-up whose writing they won’t recognise.
  • Hang the door hanger after bath time, so it’s the last thing they see before bed.
  • For the reindeer food, plain porridge oats are perfect. Leave out the glitter, as it isn’t good for birds or the garden.
  • Leave the morning note by the empty plate, with a few crumbs for good measure.
Late-night printing

Printing tips when the shops are shut

  • Ordinary printer paper is fine. If your printer takes card, white or cream card between 160 and 250gsm feels more special.
  • In the print window, choose “Actual size” or 100%. “Fit to page” can shrink the border.
  • Choose the A4 file for UK printers. US Letter is included too, for family abroad.
  • Low on colour ink? The letter still looks lovely in black and white.
  • You can reprint your kit as often as you like, so a practice copy only costs a sheet of paper.
An honest answer

Is a free letter enough?

Sometimes, yes. Royal Mail replies for free to children who write to Santa in good time, and there are free letter makers online. If you need something quick and simple, they’re a good option.

Our kit is for when you’d like a little more: six matching pieces in a keepsake design, a live preview so there are no surprises, nothing to edit in Word or Canva, and a kit you can print again whenever you like.

Questions

Can I really buy it on Christmas Eve?

Yes. Nothing is posted, so there’s no cut-off. If you can open the website and your printer is working, you’re all set.

Do I need any software?

No. You personalise everything in your browser and download a PDF that’s ready to print.

What if I spot a typo after buying?

Email us at hello@santaletterstudio.com and we’ll correct that kit for free. Our refunds page explains the rest.

Can I make one for each child?

Yes. Each kit is personalised for one child. After your first kit, each extra one is £3.99 until 6 January, applied at checkout while you’re signed in.

Will anything arrive in the post?

No. Everything is a download, which is exactly what makes it quick.
