Letter to Santa colouring page

Colour the picture
The snowman, the tree and the present are open shapes with chunky outlines, so small hands can stay inside the lines.
Write the letter
Four writing lines and a space to sign underneath, so the picture and the letter travel together in one envelope.
Getting the most out of it
- Colour first, write second
- Little hands press hard. Colouring before the writing means no smudged pencil across the lines.
- Talk while they colour
- Ask what they want to tell Santa while they work on the snowman. By the time the picture is done they know what to write.
- Two copies is the trick
- One for the postbox, one for the fridge. Children rarely want to give away the one they coloured in.
- Keep the pens off the lines
- The writing lines are faint on purpose, so a crayon over them still leaves room to write.
Sending the coloured letter to Santa
A coloured-in letter posts just like any other. Royal Mail asks for a stamp on the envelope and the child’s full name and address on the back, so Santa knows where to write. Santa says he will try to reply to as many children as possible, so a reply isn’t guaranteed.

Questions about the colouring page
What age is the colouring page for?
It suits about 3 to 8. Younger children can colour the picture and have a grown-up write the words for them; older ones colour first and then fill in the lines themselves.
Will it use up all my printer ink?
No. The picture is outlines only, with nothing filled in, so it prints as line art. Colouring is done with crayons or pencils, not the printer.
What should they colour it with?
Crayons or colouring pencils work best on ordinary printer paper. Felt tips can bleed through, so slip a spare sheet underneath if you use them.
Can they still post it after colouring it in?
Yes. Fold it, put it in an envelope addressed to Santa/Father Christmas, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ, and add a stamp with your child's full name and address on the back. Royal Mail asks for letters to be posted by Wednesday 9 December 2026.
Can I print more than one?
Print as many as you like, for your own children or a whole class. There is nothing to sign up for and no limit.
